"I am a multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter, professional touring musician and a lover of coffee! My main instrument is the fiddle or violin depending on what style I am playing. The styles I teach are classical, old-time, country, Irish, klezmer, improvisation. I also can teach music theory. The ages I am most comfortable teaching are from 5 to adult. I have been teaching around the country for 20+ years. Crystal Wallis Graves

757-746-4215
c.wallis.graves@gmail.com

Teaches: Viola, Violin

Crystal has been teaching for the past four years in Virginia and Arkansas. She has a Bachelor's Degree in Music from the Blair School of Music at Vanderbilt University and has performed as a violist with the Conway Symphony, Arkansas Symphony, the Hampton Roads Philharmonic, as well as the Jamestown String Quartet.

Crystal's philosophy of teaching music is #1 to keep the student excited about learning, #2 to keep basic musicianship at the core (solfege, ear training, and music theory) and #3 to focus on proper form so bad habits (and sore muscles!) are avoided.

Crystal is happy to customize lessons to the individual student. Whatever the student wants to play is what we will work toward to keep music fun and enjoyable. She welcomes all ages and levels and can travel to a student's home.

Teaches: Violin, Beginner Viola

I am a enthusiastic musician and teacher, and enjoy sharing my love of the violin with students. I have taught a wide demographic and age range. During my BM and MM studies at West Virginia University School of Music ( WVU), I had the opportunity to teach for the the WVU Community Music Program, and was also adjunct faculty at West Virginia Wesleyan College. My teaching philosophy is that music lessons can be inspirational, instructional, goals for the student set, and still be enjoyable for the student. I strive to create a relaxed atmosphere where the student feels free to ask questions and explore musically. I tailor each lesson specifically to each student’s personality, ability and needs. I welcome all ages and levels.
