Cellist Rafael León is in his 26th year with the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra, having been the principal cellist for the first 20 years and later as section player. He was born in Mexico City, Mexico into a family of musicians. His grandfather, Fausto León, gave him his first cello lessons. Mr. León holds degrees from the National Conservatory of Music in Mexico City, where he studied with Adolfo Odnoposoff, and the University of Mexico, where he studied with Sally Van Den Berg. For 7 years, he taught during the summer at the Breckenridge Music Institute in Colorado, where he also performed as a member of the BMI Orchestra and the Blue River Quartet. He has taught on the faculties of UALR, Ouachita Baptist University, and Hendrix College, and currently maintains a private studio of cello students.

Alice Cojocaru is originally from Romania. She received both her Bachelors and Masters in Music Education from Georgia State University under the direction of Dr. Christos Galileas and Dr. Martin Norgaard. She taught middle school orchestra for six years with 200 students in her program, in Atlanta, GA. Ms. Cojocaru also has 10+ years experience in private lessons where students were prepared for auditions into prestigious schools and All State Orchestra. She has performed with a chamber orchestra and choir at Northside Drive Baptist Church over the years for Easter and Christmas services, wedding ceremonies and receptions, holiday caroling for various business lunch-ins and parties, and has also been a part of the Dekalb Community Orchestra.

"I am a multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter, professional touring musician and a lover of coffee! My main instrument is the fiddle or violin depending on what style I am playing. The styles I teach are classical, old-time, country, Irish, klezmer, improvisation. I also can teach music theory. The ages I am most comfortable teaching are from 5 to adult. I have been teaching around the country for 20+ years. I taught in Seattle for 7 years at Meter Music school and currently teach in person and virtually."
