Arkansas Symphony Stringed Instrument Drive

Help Expand String Education in Central Arkansas!

The Arkansas Symphony Orchestra (ASO), in partnership with the Thea Foundation, is launching a Stringed Instrument Drive to collect new and gently-used instruments for use in the ASO’s growing music education programs in area elementary schools.

“By providing children with these instruments, we ensure that everyone has a chance to pursue their musical and artistic dreams regardless of their ability to pay,” said Philip Mann, ASO Music Director. “The next Yo-Yo Ma, Midori or Itzhak Perlman could be right here just waiting for the opportunity to play. We want to provide that opportunity.”

If you would like to contribute to the ASO's Stringed Instrument Drive, but do not have an instrument to donate, you can still help by purchasing a new instrument.  For your tax deductible donation of $250, the Little Rock Violin Shop will provide the ASO with everything needed to get a child started: a handmade violin, bow, and case, as well rosin and a shoulder rest.  This package regularly sells for over $350!

All donations are securely processed through PayPal, and you will receive a tax receipt from the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra following your instrument purchase.  To purchase an instrument outfit please click the $250 Donation button below.  If you would like to purchase more than one outfit, or make a smaller contribution towards an outfit purchase, please click the You Decide button and enter your own amount.
